Huey sent a cool Homecoming armband and necklace to school for KG...
how special you feel to have a big guy who really likes you for your adopted Indian.?.
This particular scene is dear to my heart.
Em remembers when she led the JNHS parade on the back of one of these familiar animals.
The WHITE HORSES OF HSU!!!
a traditional lead off to sooooo many parades through the years.
THE FAIR IS IN TOWN!!!!
we waited in line for at least an hour to let the brave tumblers have a go at this new "ride"..
attached to bouncy lines and a trampoline underfoot...
these kids could
FLY!!!
seems like yesterday when I was screaming at one of the ride workers...
"get my baby off that ride NOW!!!"
(as I watched my little Elly and her good friend Mel slipping under the safety bar of the
"falling star".... my heart was in my throat...
and my hands were almost around the throat of the attendant!!)
a turkey leg
and a funnel cake...
Then back home till next year!
I love the traditions that have marked our years in this community we call home!
Homecoming and the West Texas Fair and Rodeo.... 2 of our favorites!
