then.... next day.....another West Texas tradition....THE FAIR IS IN TOWN!!!!
we waited in line for at least an hour to let the brave tumblers have a go at this new "ride"..
attached to bouncy lines and a trampoline underfoot...
these kids could
FLY!!!
Troy and I loved watching the duos, triads, and quartets do all the things one does at a fair....seems like yesterday when I was screaming at one of the ride workers...
"get my baby off that ride NOW!!!"
(as I watched my little Elly and her good friend Mel slipping under the safety bar of the
"falling star".... my heart was in my throat...
and my hands were almost around the throat of the attendant!!)
Before we leave 2 things were imperative...a turkey leg
and a funnel cake...
Then back home till next year!
I love the traditions that have marked our years in this community we call home!
