EE is 3!!!!

Happy birthday my "big" girl! You are 3 years old !
Mommy made you the most beautiful cake.
I remember last year when you were still in your cast....
and we tried to swim when you wouldn't see.

... but this year....
LOOK~~~~ everyone can see that you are straight as straight can be....
and ...
you can swim!
YOU can even jump off the side.
Yes....my little EE... you are indeed a "big" girl, BUT
Don't ever get too big to be Tahtee's little one.... just like your mommy!
We love you, and are so very blessed by the joy you bring to our hearts!
happy birthday little.... oooops, big girl EE!
"you are my sweet girl.... my pieya"

Father's Day at PK again 2010

Happy Father's day DADs~~
Whether Jumping off the dock,
flying on a wake board,
hugging your sweet ones close,
cooking and sitting on the counter tops,
putting together little tables,
pulling in the ropes,
docking the boat,
or simply talking about important things like
how very special you are to your dad....

Father's Day at PK is a treasured memory every year!!!
This year no casts.... and everyone tubed or "skied".... way to go big kids....
seems I remember "rough riders of the roaring rapids" about this same age...
Hidey Ho......:)))))

Fingernails, tatoos, and Ajarita bushes

Poppy will you paint my fingernails?
sure.... let Poppy get his glasses.... what color?
"Parkly is my favohwit"....
"Parkly it is!"
This is what the runners behind our girl saw as she passed.... or stayed ahead.
We are having cedar eradicated from a portion of our place... I wanted to make very sure that the driver of the grubber left these Texas favorites.... maybe I might even make jelly from the tart little berries!
Ice cream on the porch.... a must in the summer!
Sandals in a row.... yes.... it is one HOT HOT HOT summer!!!!

Missssss Lawwwen:))))))

do you remember your first crush??
The one who made you feel like you needed to hide, and yet you wanted to keep that special one in your view all the time?
Our little 3 year old boy TS found his first love (besides mom) while he was watching
his sister play softball....Her name is
Missssss Lawwwen.... or Lauren for those of you who don't know little 3 year old boy talk.
It happened in the midst of Summer blossoms that his little heart was stolen right away!
"Mommy, I put Miss Lawwen in Jesus' hands today"... he told his mom as he'd said a special prayer for the sweet young lady and put a stone into the hands at the prayer chapel just for her.
Again... the rains are unprecedented for this year, and the chapel arbor is cool and green!
Miss Laween stole his heart because she'd sit in the grass and build "fires" with sticks to roast unsuspecting bad guys on a skewer.... a REAL treat for a little guy who was used to digging in the dirt and playing trucks with the other siblings of the other players.... This girl was all about "what do you wanna do S?".... straight to his little tender tough heart!
I hope you know, Miss Lawwen.... you have been given a gift!
I pray for each of my precious ones that the ones who draw their hearts are worthy of the honor of that gift!
I pray that the LORD bless them and keep them safe and may the joys always outweigh the hurts.... LORD keep them pure and let their standards be set high as only YOU can give them eyes to see what is right and worthy of their deepest feelings.

Cool Runnings: District Track meet

WE knew the girl loved to run... she was the second fastest time in the entire BG elementary as a 3rd grader... but I guess we had no idea how good she was.
We've not ever really done track!
After only a couple of weeks "training" coach Art set KG and SJ (we were surprised he wanted to even do this!!) to run in the district track meet.

SJ ran the 100 and the 200... which all the beginning competitors did.... EXCEPT KG!
He put her into the 800 and the 1500!
PopT rubs shoulders to loosen our boy and get him ready for his 2 events.
Coach Art tells KG some of the points of strategy in timing and getting around the track.
She not only qualified for the regional, she took GOLD in both her events beating her best times by 40 sec in the 1500~.... she was competing with middle schoolers and even the older girls in these distance runs. This qualified her to run in the regional meet at ACU.
At the Regional meet KG qualified to go on to Nationals, but wisely (this Tahtee thinks:) her mommy opted out of traveling to VA for this meet, and decided the girl and her brothers (yes both are running now, getting up at 6AM in the morning in the SUMMER!!!) needed another year of training before jumping in any further!
I do believe the LORD may have some plans in order for this sport for this girl.... and maybe even her brothers and possibly her cousins... we'll see!
It was fun to see them run! effortless.... and easy!

Knockouts were indeed Knockouts!

Softball Summer of 2010...
WE love watching our girl compete... pitcher or short stop... or wherever...
She loves the game!
and we love her!

Friends who will be her counterparts were bound even closer as the season progressed.
At the end of the season... KNOCKOUTS were the #1 team in the 10 and unders of the the
Abilene South league.... then the all stars began with Moosey coaching once more.
This was probably Wibby's last season with KG softball as Little League baseball and soccer will now assume 1st position in priority... although KG will have no bigger fan than her uncle who coached with her dad the past 2 years!
Dad contemplates what the next season holds..... AND
possibly what the NEXT YEARS hold:)
You're a good daddy Jeffrey! Moosey Todd!

Crawdads, Frogs, and 3 little boys with PopT

After our abundance of rains this season, the loading dock at the red building fills up with the runoff. As it fills, we've found that there are great little treasures beneath the depths, crawdads and frogs have come in on the legs of the birds who are finding a cool drink in the middle of the hot fork in the highway.

Mud boots were a prerequisite for the adventure in the loading dock, along with buckets and dip nets... all set to hunt the clawed bayou critters along with their leaping roommates.
"I got one"... was the excited cry over and over as the buckets began to fill.
Watching from the sidelines was a hot steamy business... and I was glad when they decided it was time to take them to the lily pond behind the house for release.
After making sure whose creatures were whose.... the release program proceeded....
"do you think they're gonna be happy in their new home Tahtee?"
"OH you can be assured of that one boys.... the heron won't be able to find those frogs and crawdads under these pretty lily pads.... so yes, they will like this move!"
Fun day with PopT... always an adventure..... GUY STYLE!!!

33 is an important year....SURPRISE!!!

Birthday cakes galore in June...
Nana did this one for Hannah, Emily, Wibby, Moosey, Will T, and Emma.... guess she forgot
to put her name on there too! Happy birthday Nana!

Then with all sorts of excuses... and even a little frustration at one more thing to do...
Elly gets Em to the cottage for a birthday surprise!
A good friend and Olive Garden Chocolate Mouse Pie... what could be better?

coffee in the cottage and good conversation....THAT is a gift in itself!

Love you girls...... and the sweet friendship that has lasted through the years...
You two sisters KNOW the hearts of each other.... and what matters most!

Happy 33rd birthday Emily.... my beautiful first born treasure!
