Sponteniety, the good the bad and the ugly!!!

SERENDIPITY!!!

SPONTENEITY!!!

THE GOOD: Birthday's chosen by the LORD! welcome Morgan Samuel

The first words Curt said to me with THE CALL were

"Tahtee... I HAVE A SON!"

I'll not forget the sound of his voice! NEVER...
so proud, yet so tenderly humbled!

THE NOT SO GOOD: the "natives got restless" and when out in full regalia can be a daunting force with which to be reckoned!

(I was assigned "guard" duty at one point, and I do believe I was immenently in danger of being tied up with a battery of french fries lofted from the back seat!

really, one came sailing over and I got suspiciously on guard after the

subsequent giggles :)))))

I got the text from sweet Bethany... today is the day!
Troy had a previous engagement: yes GOLF...but said... GO! so I made plans for a quick surprise trip to Lubbock! I wanted to touch and hug my Bethany/Curt/Aden and now our newest friend, Morgan Samuel!

Called Em... told her my plans... she said...
"Wait a minute, I'm calling Elly, maybe we could all go and I can see Kristi!"
(she'd been yearning... wierd word "yearning" huh".... do you "yearn"?... Seinfeld huh?)

to see her precious friend's new home, and even more to just see her heart bound friend!
BUT...

"the best laid plans"

which I must confess I had no plans!

Hot museum,

(we were trying to "kill a little time waiting for Curt's call)

nausea at an African Omni, hungry tired kiddos, NO NAPS.... NO NAPS....

NO NAPS....

and yet..... a NEW BABY!!! and oh so wonderful friends!!!!

My girls were ready to just go back to Abilene with only me getting to meet the newest most recent treasure from Heaven, Morgan!
But I left my camera... someone had to go get it.... I stayed in the car with the restless bunch

(see early part of post about ambush from back seat:)

and KG with Mom and Aunt in tow got to hold this boy his first day on earth!
THESE are blessings that are only available at that moment!
The day of our entry to earth is a once in a lifetime day

(I know Bethany... praise God! not another 9lb14oz delivery!!!)
He's beautiful Howells.... it was a treasured moment that we are blessed to share!

NOW>>>>>>>

guess we will just have to have another jaunt to Lubbock!!!

and this time.... with swimsuits, vests, and happy troopers in tow!

I WANNA SEE KRISTI'S new house!

(guess that was my regret of this otherwise precious day....

oh yes... I think we'll NOT do another Omni Theater event EVER again!!!)

Happy 34 Anniversary! on to the softball tournament!

Happy 34th anniversary my husband!
Jenn gave us this painting of the bride and groom... see the JOY splashed across the piece?
LOVELY my sister, thank you!
(Elly thought we were your models... MUCH younger Troy and Carla of course)
Coffee on the porch of the cottage....
Thank you Troy for a wonderful morning talking, asking, seeking,
REFLECTING
and finding
the next steps in this wonderful journey of our lives, our marriage!

The view was spectacular.... especially after the much needed soaking rain from the night before.
I agree... something broke open and came raining down....
(or perhaps REIGNING down is better.)

Yes.... it was a golden band those many years ago, and today... a silver cuff on my wrist says,
"I LOVE YOU" and you know I do too!

Time waits for no one.... so after a lovely morning,
on to the events of the day!
yes, the tournament was cancelled for rain yesterday, but today, WE'RE ON!!!
and KG is ready to play!
As is her MOM rounding up a herd of kiddos as well as watching,
Dad coaching 1st base,
Wibbie and Poppy... making sure the officials know the rules (but not saying a word!!)
... and all the extracurriculars that go along with an all star girl's softball tournament!

A BIG WIN... and now the coach's hair will be blue for the next game....

I think you are right KG....
you're certainly NOT "Lil Indians"....
You did us all proud today girls! ONWARD!!! to some more fun times!

I think this is a memorable and remarkable weekend for the beginning of our next year of married life!
WHAT A JOURNEY was begun 34 years ago today!
I love you Troy Limbaugh!
Life is good for you and me! Thank the LORD!

Yes, it is a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

This picture, for those of you who know me,
means more than words can speak on this day,
Mother's Day 2009!
I adore you my precious ones...
Tell your husbands thank you again for letting my girls share my morning!
It is a tradition that has brought forth "fruit" each time and continues to thread
it's roots deeply into my heart!
I cherish you both more than my words could say!
Happy Mother's Day to you too, as I can think of no one who does it better than both of you are doing that wonderful job right now!

Baseball, Horses, Chuck Wagons, Western Heritage Ranch Rodeo

What a full weekend!
T-ball with a bunch of fun little boys, and possibly even more fun Daddies!
ACClub with the family and extended family before the annual trip to a sold out
Western Heritage Ranch Rodeo finals!
So many ways we walk to the same places...
so many sweet moments with Moms, Dads, Sons and Daughters...
Yes, this is my husband in LONG PANTS and even boots!
Many things will one do for one's grandchildren... or their children!
Even boots, jeans, and a starched white shirt!
KG was most appreciative I assure you!
Then... the events of the night kick off Texas STYLE with the grand entry led off with
a familiar and familial connection... the HSU white horses!
We STOOD to the National Athem,
Cowboys took hats off and held them over their hearts,
then we PRAYED... in front of the whole world present in that Coliseum and
it felt RIGHT before God! I love being a Texan!!!

... and each of these moments hold tightly on my heart strings as I watch what is most important to me....
RELATIONSHIPS...
built and grown on time, love, and honest heart talk!
I've gotta tell you... these times are priceless to me in the midst of all the talk of depression, recession and financial crisis...
I am rich my friends... so very rich, and it has absolutely NOTHING to do with my
financial status, 401K, stocks, or any bank account...
The "account" that matters most is way in the "black"... and I am blessed!

"The girls got her boots on, nothing's off limits!"

We were walking through the Western Heritage this afternoon,
looking at the Budweiser Clydesdales and various other ranch rodeo animals
when my
oldest granddaughter surprised me!
They'd just mucked out the stalls and there were many piles of shavings and other "stuff" outside the horses areas.
I saw my usually fastidious granddaughter in her plaid western shirt,
cap and boots climb right up on a big PILE to get a closer look at a
particularly pretty paint pony.
Baffled, I looked at her grinning mom who said...
"When the girl's got her boots on, NOTHING'S off limits!"
I thought to myself....
HUMMMMM "when we're wearing the RIGHT shoes...
no telling where we might be able to walk."
Hoping Y'all have your boots on in these days of opportunity in which we are living!
