ALIGNMENT... RESOLVE....more birthday stuff

**I even tried to put a picture in... but after 3 times, it won't let me... so just words... sorry THIS IS NOT simply fun family happenings...

I still haven't gotten things quite boiled down, but I must write this now, or I'll lose it...

BASKETBALL: 5 on 5

Yesterday morning, Troy and I sat talking before he was off to his various appointments

(made and yet to be made) for the day...

Troy has played basketball at the FLC for 30 or so years every MWF morning. He has become the venerable "old man" to whom all the young guys point and say...

"see basketball surely can be a lifetime sport".

(just had to put that in there for you my love!!! amazing man that you are!)

the situation: Troy had been out of pocket and unable to go to the gym for a week or so. There was a newer young guy who didn't know "how we do it"... and at the first game tie... Troy called for 3 more minutes on the clock to resolve the tie (a must in the first game... each "team" goes winner on court for 2 games and then off). Younger guy says "we always put up 2 minutes"... thus the dilemma... "we ALWAYS...."

My questions ensued

How do the new guys learn the "way you play the game?"

Why are they willing to do it the same way?

Why does your way work and the others not?

VALUE ON NUMBER NOT ON ABILITY:

part of they way they do "it" doesn't allow for "picked" teams... they are NUMBERED as they come in the door...ensuring that there are no "stacked" teams (after the initial sorting.....I believe that the handsome mature guy is usually allowed this because he is a good judge of abilities and knows most of the players who come in)

The placement on a team has nothing to do with ability and everything to do with your NUMBER.

Throughout the conversation of the "game" were all sorts of confirmations for my "word".

ALIGNMENT:

throughout the past year... numbers on clocks, calendars, cd and MP3 tracks, signs, everywhere were randomly and VERY often lined up perfectly.... too often to be happenstance... I'd begun (and still see it) to see it as a gift of my LORD to tell me....."I've got it straight Carla... it is all in order.... it is or will be right"

to me it was like my LORD handing me a rose each time I noticed or saw this!

(I must quality that the signs and marks may not simply be on a "path/trail", they may well be in a person that must be recognized)
