***note... this is simply a visual record... so much more than words could say***
WE weren't sure this weekend was gonna work out......but.....it did, and we're glad! Old friends got together for some much needed REFLECTION and fun!
We realized that all four of the Mommies had been lifeguards at one time or another as we talked about the good, the bad and the ugly of life guarding days!
Those skills certainly were put to use once again with 9 kids at/in or around the pool!

Then KG invited everyone to the pens to meet her buddy BB.... of course with the watchful supervision of JTC! except our little 7 year old cowgirl who demonstrated to all concerned that she was quite capable of handling the horse named Brave Boy.
Each one got a turn.... some were the first time on these gentle creatures, but there was trust here..... Trust that comes only with history. We talked about that didn't we?
BB stands ready for the next novice to ride! Thanks Jeff...(http://dalowes.blogspot.com/you've gotta read Kris' take on the "horsey story") we surely do trust these little ones with your hands on the reins! Remember the snowy day you brought Em and Lara home safely? I think part of that trust was born that night!
Lara's newest little one, Lily, is surrounded by adoring mommy fans!
Notice in this picture all the cameras! Needless to say... these few pics of mine are merely a drop in the bucket. (I find the dynamics of this picture so intriguing. Notice the placement of the moms, the five boys central and facing all sorts of directions, and the oldest and youngest 4 girls in various places or "positions"... just an interesting side note from my view)
These two of Em's and Kris are bound to be buddies for life... 3 months apart and both oh so smart from that youngest sibling position in the family. YES... dirt is the best part of the pens!

On the the HomePlace for dinner with the rest of the Doran crew.... yes, there are even cameras there from adoring Hoot! I've never seen a child that doesn't like Nanna! She is a great grandmother who regularly keeps/plays with 5 great grandchildren she keeps. Wow she's something!
Moddie and TaTa discuss the things that PUBLISHED authors talk about.... and more... they are two wonderful grandmothers! Maybe I'm in the company of FAME???? ya think?
While the moms talk, the kids go outside and find lots of new friends. Ben... you are GREAT with kids. I'm thinking God has big plans for your life.... yes, get a wife first!
The hackberries offer great shade outside the HomePlace.... and a great place to play with others who visit...."homeplace" is an appropriate name don't you think?
The meal ends after 2 hours of visiting and playing ... oh yes, and eating did fit in there somewhere.... Mer has the rock she traded for "eating a good dinner" to prove it! Next time we'll try to be sure Cam doesn't eat the stick to the sucker!

The night was finished with coffee, friends, questions, laughter, and God talk.... oh yes, Kristi caught the little eavesdropper about 10 minutes after the rest of us left for home around midnight. We let him find other accommodations soon afterwards as he is not a welcome guest at the cottages ;O
Thank You Father for friends who let us see ourselves through the reflection of their eyes!
